Alan Baker presented this short display of items from some of the U.S. Bases in the Caribbean during WW2. He introduced the topic explaining the Destroyers for Bases Agreement of 1940 where the United States gave the British 50 obsolete destroyers in exchange for 99-year leases to territory in Newfoundland and the Caribbean. Under the terms of this agreement the United States established eleven military bases in the Caribbean (and in Bermuda). Covers shown include U.S. APO cancellations and censorship from the region.
