The formation which ‘owned’ this badge had various titles over the years, all except one featured the designation’24’.
24th Independent Infantry Brigade Group
24th Infantry Brigade 1958-60
24th Airportable Brigade 1961-76
5th Field Force 1976-83
24th Infantry Brigade 1983-88
24th Airmobile Brigade 1988-
On 1/9/99 merged with 5th Airborne Brigade to become 16th Air Assault Brigade.
This may require some ‘tweaking’ once I am able to carry out detailed research.
