Royal Marines MEF WW2

I have received the following enquiry:

I have a postcard sent by my father to my mother during the early part of WW2. This post card does not bear a stamp or postmark but contains the following information. PO/X 112719 Mne (marine?) J H Dayton R.M. 10D M.E.F. My father trained in Towyn (West Wales) and served in Egypt and Ceylon. Are you able to tell where it may have been sent from. I was born in September 1940 and my father refers to me in the card, so it was probably sent time after this date.

Photo of card attached - can anyone assist in identifying the presumably Royal Marines unit and location in the Middle East, which may also provide some indication of date.

Thanks, Mike
