What a coincidence.
I don't have Proud's publication. Would be grateful for what it has as the first and last recorded dates for BFM 23 in Aden. Was the BFM 23 mark used anywhere else, and when?
I'm presuming BFM offices were the equivalent of FPOs but within a Naval establishment?

It seems it was withdrawn in May 1946? Presumably as it was no longer justified in terms of need.
ah, Proud's copyrighted system of postmark nomenclature...... indispensable yet full of avoidable pitfalls, the most extreme being the same marks having different type numbers depending on when used AND then having those type numbers changed in the next edition...
