No 6 Wing RNAS WW1
The attached cover has been censored at No 6 Wing RNAS (Gould 6C12 in Volume 2) and has in pencil in the centre "HP / RNAS". In addition there is a dr cds from MILAN dated 31.1.1918. It has an Italian stamp.
I can find no reference in the history of No 6 Wing that locates it in or near Milan which is way north. It's main function was to reinforce a barrage from a base in Taranto to prevent Austrian naval vessels exiting the Aegean Sea.
Any suggestions?
