Postal Censor Nairobi

I have received an enquiry asking if we have come across the WW1 cachet "D.C. / POSTAL CENSOR / NAIROBI, B.E.A." before. Does anyone have a cover / posrcard with this censor cachet on it please?

The nearest we have been able to find is an article written back in 1967 by former Editor Alan Brown in FPHS Newsletter No 87 (September/October 1967) who recorded a very similar cachet for Kampala. I illustrate the two cachets below. Can anyone help pelase?

Thanks, Mike

This query came to me as well. My response was that it looked a bit unconvincing but I have to confess the East Africa theatre is not 'my area'. The Kampala example, complete with serifs, neat and regular wavy lines, looks much more convincing compared with a number of blurred letters and very uneven lines in this green Nairobi example.
