Gould 3A47 CENSORED BNVC Azores

HI,

Any help with this items would be appreciated, first the stamp. I do not have any stamp catalogues, so i would be interested to know when the shown Portuguese ACORES 7.1/2c stamp was issued, especially in blue, I think this would be the 1912 - 1931 issues, but more than that I do not know.

The attached is from the Azores, I think 1917, addressed to the Wireless School at Crystal Palace. Assuming the censor cachet would be outbound mail, that implies this CENSORED BNVC cachet, which Gould records as 3A47 would have been in the Azores, any thoughts.

The U.S. Navy had a base at Ponta Delgada 1917 - 1919 https://www.usmcu.edu/Portals/218/MarineCorpsHistory_vol7no1_Summer2021Ponta%20Delgada_1%20%281%29.pdf could this have been related.

I did think the B in the cachet was an R so RNVC, but have concluded this is BNVC - any thoughts on this.

The mysteries that WW1 censorship still holds!

Thank you.

That is great,

On that basis this fits with Michael Gould listing as a RN WW1 cachet, although late in the war, also as addressed to the RN Wireless School, that adds to the possibility of being from a RN Ship, or base station.

I shall research further.
