WW11

A friend has sent me copies of these two OHMS re-used label covers asking if I can add any information about them. WW11 is not my field, especially these rather unusual items, so over to the Forum...

The larger envelope was posted from Newcastle on Tyne on 6 JAN 42. There is a four-line blue cachet reading EMERGENCY REPAIR/OVERSEER/TYNE DISTRICT/ENGINEERING.

The cover is addressed to the Kilblain Engine Works at Greenock on an Admiralty reusable label.

No markings on the reverse

The smaller cover has an interesting oval cachet :

COMMAND SUPPLY DEPOT/19 SEP 1944/* HOLM*, and is addressed to the Petroleum Board, Kirkwall.

Holm is presumably the small island on the east side of Scapa Flow accessible by vehicles when the Churchill Barriers were constructed. Again nothing on the reverse.

My friend also mentioned two WW11 covers sent to Canada, one has the handstamp CA - AF and the other

R.C.E. - - CA. One (possibly both) have Orderly Room on the front.

He has trawled possible websites on the internet without success.
