British Pacific Fleet RO Manus PNG

Can anyone assist with this please

I show the address at the top inside page of a AFW 3077 Air letter cancelled standard POMM, undated addressed from a S/Lt (A) Hubble RNVR, Box 40 BPFRO C/O GPO London.

In the letter he mentions 'manage to get a bit of flying in, borrow a dive bomber and buzz around.......I have got to drive to Manus this morning etc'

Assuming BPF in the address is British Pacific Fleet, Manus would refer to Manus Island off PNG.

Has anyone else seen this address Box 40, or know what the RO stands for? I note that the RN used the airfield at Poonan in this period.
